VIRTUALSHARES STOCK TRADING CHALLENGE HELP & GAME INFORMATION - REGISTRATION

In order to play, you need to Register, so that you can create your personal portfolio account with login details. Please read through all of the Game Rules and Terms of Use before registering. VirtualSHARES Stock Trading Challenge takes great care in the privacy and security of your personal details. Please follow the links from our Registration page to read our Privacy and Security policy. Only ONE registration is permitted.

Registration for the game is open from Monday, 6th October. Actual trading will begin on 20th October and the competition will run for 6 weeks, closing on Friday, 28th November.

Once you have registered, you'll immediately be taken to your portfolio page. During the registration phase, you'll be able to look up all quotes and set up a Watch List, in preparation for trading. You'll also be able to create or join up to three private or public groups. In addition to the overall competition, you'll be able to invite and compete with friends, relatives and colleagues.

REGISTRATION - FAQ

Q: How many times can I enter?
A: You may only register and enter ONCE. Anyone found to be registered more than once, or controlling more than one portfolio at any stage of the competition, will face possible disqualification as indicated in the official Game Rules and Terms of Use.


Q: I'm registered, but I am having problems logging in.
A: Are you sure that you are using your VirtualSHARES Stock Trading Challenge registration email and password? You must only use the original email address that you have registered with. If you are unsure about your password, you can retrieve it by clicking on the 'Forgotten your password?' link at the login page. We will issue you with your password by emailing it to your registered email address. If you do not receive your new password by email, it is then likely that you are either using an incorrect email address, or that something is wrong with your registration. If this is the case, please contact us, providing as much detail as possible about your registration so we can determine what may be at fault.

Something that may be preventing you from logging in is if you have Cookies in your browser window turned off. To check this in Internet Explorer, you will need to go to Tools, then Internet Options. Click on the Privacy tab, then Advanced, and ensure that Cookies is set to "Accept".


Q: I have a new email address. Can you change my login details?
A: You can actually change your login details directly at the VirtualSHARES Stock Trading Challenge website. Simply login with your current details, and then click on the "Your Details" button, which can be found in the menu near the top of the screen. You can change your login email and/or password there.


Q: Can I change the name of my portfolio?
A: Yes, although only for a limited time prior to the start of competition. Your portfolio name is a unique identifier in the game, and cannot be changed at latter stages of the competition. The VirtualSHARES Stock Trading Challenge may consider some portfolio name changes in certain circumstances.


Q: How do I retrieve a lost password?
A: You can have your password re-issued to you, as long as you can remember and provide the email address you registered with. Simply go to the Login or Register pages and follow the on-screen links to retrieve your password.
