VirtualSHARES Stock Trading Challenge

In addition to the overall competition, your portfolio can also be entered in up to three Private Groups, where you are ranked and compete against friends and colgroups, or a small group of other participants in the competitions. Through the Traders Box feature, you will be able to communicate with your group of competitors live and direct.

Whether you select to create your own Private Group, or join a Public Group, you will have the opportunity to invite others to join your group, by filling in a form provided on your groups page. When using this form to send invitations, your friends/relatives will be provided with a direct link to our registration page, and will be added to your group automatically upon successful registration. You can leave/change between groups at any time before the beginning of the competition, by using the links on your group page.

PUBLIC GROUP

Creating a Public Group will allow you to invite anyone you like to your Group. Anyone who joins your Group or obtains your Group Code will also have the ability to join and invite others to this Group.

PRIVATE GROUP

If you create a Private Group, you will be the only one who can invite others to this Group. Anyone uninvited using the Invite box on your Group page will not be able to join this Group.

YOUR GROUPS COMPETITION - FAQ

Q: How I do create a group where I can compete against my friends?
A: If you have been invited to join a group by a friend or relative, please use the information that was emailed to you to join that group. If not, you will be given the option to create your own group and invite other friends and relatives to join your group, on registration.

Q: I have found out that all of my friends are in another group. How do I swap group so I can play against them? Can you move my portfolio for me?
A: You can swap group by entering the desired group Code in the box provided on your group page, as long as this function is available (Changing between group may be disabled at some stage over the Competition).

Q: Do I win a prize for coming first in my Private/Public group?
A: Unfortunately due to the enormous amount of users/group in the Competition, it is virtually impossible to organise and award prizes to winners in each group.

Q: Can I change the name of the group that I created?
A: Your group name is a unique identifier in the game, and cannot be changed. The VirtualSHARES Stock Trading Challenge may consider some group name changes in certain circumstances.

Q: The group that I was in is now different, or its name changed... Why?
A: We may add entries, or merge groups where they do not attract enough competitors. All care will be taken to ensure that all original entries that you had in your group will still be there, in addition to new ones. Your group name may therefore change based on these movements.

Q: I just joined. Why wasn't I added to a group, and where is the option to create one?
A: Everyone who signs up to the VirtualSHARES Stock Trading Challenge will be a part of a group. Look for the "group" link and button on your Competition Home Page to access your group. If you selected a Public group, your entries will automatically be added to one at the start of the competition, when trading gets under way.
